Rabat — Morocco and Senegal have reinforced their long-standing partnership by signing a wide range of cooperation agreements aimed at expanding collaboration across key sectors, highlighting the strength of their bilateral relationship and shared vision for development.
The agreements were concluded during the 15th session of the Morocco-Senegal Joint High Commission, held in Rabat and co-chaired by Moroccan Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch and Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. The meeting brought together senior officials and ministers from both countries, reflecting the importance of the partnership.
The agreements span multiple sectors, including infrastructure, education, agriculture, digital development, and industrial cooperation. These initiatives aim to strengthen economic ties, promote investment, and enhance cooperation in areas essential for long-term growth.
One of the key highlights was a partnership between Morocco’s National Ports Agency and the Port of Dakar, designed to enhance maritime cooperation and improve logistics efficiency. The agreement is expected to strengthen trade connections and support economic activity between the two countries.
Education and training were also major areas of focus. Both countries agreed to expand academic exchanges, scholarship programs, and vocational training initiatives. These programs aim to develop skills, promote knowledge exchange, and support workforce development.
Additional agreements focused on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, strengthening industrial infrastructure, and promoting digital transformation. These initiatives are expected to create new economic opportunities and support innovation.
Agricultural cooperation was another important component, with agreements aimed at improving food security, livestock development, and agricultural productivity. These initiatives reflect the importance of agriculture in both countries’ economies.
