Cambodia has praised the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, expressing its admiration for Morocco’s development model and full support for the Royal Atlantic Initiatives aimed at strengthening African integration and cooperation.
In a Joint Communiqué issued after a videoconference between Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Cambodian counterpart Prak Sokhonn, Phnom Penh commended King Mohammed VI’s “wise policy” that has ensured Morocco’s prosperity and stability.
The Cambodian minister highlighted the importance of the Atlantic States Initiative, launched by the Moroccan Sovereign, describing it as a key platform for promoting African unity, regional partnerships, and shared prosperity. He also underlined the strategic value of the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline, initiated under the King’s directives, as a symbol of continental energy integration.
Cambodia further expressed full support for the Royal Initiative to give Sahel countries access to the Atlantic Ocean, recognizing it as an act of effective solidarity toward African nations.
On the international stage, Sokhonn lauded King Mohammed VI’s role as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee in defending the Palestinian cause and protecting Islamic holy sites in Al-Quds Asharif, while commending the efforts of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency.
The Cambodian official also recalled Morocco’s contribution to the peace process in Cambodia in 1992 under the UN Transitional Authority (UNTAC), as both nations prepare to mark 30 years of diplomatic relations in 2026.
